My new S&W 1911
« on: February 17, 2005, 02:32:41 PM »
Well my S&W 1911 has 200rds through it now; and not one hick-up or malfunction. It was shooting 3" to the left @ 50yds; and 3-4" high. The trigger is a little heavier than I wish. The barrel crown is a little rough, but shoots good. Other than those nit-picks; I love this gun. I bought some Wally world [Wal-mart] winchester 45 FMJ bulk ammo, and it grouped 3-4" at 50 yds; but then I tried those reloads that I had reloaded in anticipation for this gun, and it grouped 2-3" [10rds] with 6 bullets in a nice 2" hole clover leaf. The reloads shot more towards 12 O`clock than did the FMJ ammo did.All shooting was done from a bench [folding table]. Hope you guys enjoy this Range report. I hear my reloading bench calling me now.  Ray
