Steyr S-9 vs S&W Sigma
« on: February 18, 2005, 05:41:37 PM »
Has anyone had any experieince with either of these?  I am looking for a 9mm to augment the 45 ACP.  I have found both guns for under $300.  I still regret selling the 9mm Colt Commander...

The Steyr should smoke the Sigma...get the Steyr. Although the Sigma is a serviceable pistol the Steyr is got a better trigger and such.

:cb2: Yeah, what he said. The Steyr is a much better weapon. If for nothing less, get it for the trigger -- you'll shoot better with it.

You said it was a S-9...the compact Steyr?? Those are rare...worth more I hear. The regular Steyr was a Type M...I believe...

I went with the Steyr S-9 (subcomapct 9mm) nice firearm.  Now I just need Steyr to make a .45 ACP.

Steyr----------hands down. Neither one would be my first choice, but the Steyr is light years ahead of the Sigma!

:cb2: When they first came out 10 or 12 years ago, either our county or state troopers, I don't remember which, went with the Sigmas (probably because they were S&W), but it sure didn't last long. They dropped them pretty quickly. Don't know why, but it wasn't a good sign.
