Hey guys, I think this is my first post here. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the best method and adhesive to attach a forend tip to a stock? The stock material is Turkish walnut I believe, and the new tip is Purple Heartwood. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Les.

Brownell's Accraglas is standard adhesive for attaching foreend tips.

Drill for a 1/4" or 3/8" dowel to position and hold the piece. Clamp firmly and let set. It's PERMANENT!

I also use Brownell's accraglass, however I use the gel. It's a little thicker, stays put prettygood. You may also want to color your adhesive. I usually color the gel black, when the stock is finished this gives me a very distinctive black line spacer!

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering if the acraglass would adhere well enough. I guess it will from your answers and since I already have that on hand, thats what I'll use. EARS, I too was thinking of using the black die for a blackline spacer. Thanks, Les

I use the Devcon twein tubed epoxy in the slow set or 5 ton formula. Wash the areas to be glued with acetone for best adhesion..

Good tip from gunnut 69, clean surfaces to be joined. Some of the exotic woods also contain a lot of oil. One word of caution, some of the exotic woods also contain toxins. These toxins can be breathed in from the sanding dust or some of them can even be absorbed through the skin. Would have to look back through some of my reference material but I believe that one of these is either coco-bola or bobinga. Thought I would pass that along, when I started there were'nt many computers around here, probably be a lot easier to research now.
