OLD Field Glasses

Guys:

I inherited two pair of field glasses some time back...guess they belonged to the old folks.

Anyway, wonder if anyone can tell me about them...?  The are about six inches in height, made from brass which was factory painted black on both ends with only the mid-section brass exposed, maybe 4X, a knob in the middle that work the eyepieces in/out and finally, the only identification is found around the eyepieces...LEMAIRE FAB. PARIS.

Any ideas?
