Contender Values?
« on: February 20, 2005, 01:05:05 AM »
Where can I get an idea of the value of 2 Contenders that I own?

I bought them over the years and I think I want to sell them, but I have no idea what they are worth now.  Both are like new and both are 14 inch .35 Rem Barrels.  One is a Ported Hunter with a Red-Dot and one is a regular barrel with sights.  Both have shoulder holsters and Custom Grips.  The Ported Barrel has about 12 shots through and the other one about a box.

They 'Snort' too much for me.

*This post should not be considered an offer to sell, nor should you send a Private Message with an offer to buy.  When I decide on whether I will sell, I will post them in the proper forum. *

Blue easy open frames are going for about $200 each used in excellent conditiion and barrels from $150-$175.  Usually easier to sell it in pieces rather than as a package but you never know.

I have seen the complete gun ranging from $350 to $400 without any add on's. The red dot has to be what someone really wants if they're to buy the gun. Unless of course, it is a quality piece and has resale value. The holsters vary in value also, leather as opposed to Gor-Tex and so on. The custom grips will be a nice addition if they're ambidextrous and perhaps laminated. There are many variables when pricing used Contenders and in most cases, it pays to part them out.
