Reloading question
« on: February 20, 2005, 04:30:10 AM »
Hello all, I am looking for an all around powder for my .223 and 7-30 Waters, both in 14" barrel, and my .243 rifle. I am looking at Reloader 15. My concern is muzzle flash and fireball from the TC barrels, is R15 a good choice? Any other powders I should/could look into? Thanks

WW 748 works in both these calibers.

I chose H335 because my Lyman manual gave me this as a choise for loading the 223 and 7-30 waters. I liked the idea of using one powder for both. It's a ball powder and works great.

I don't own a 7-30 Waters, but I use RL-15 in the 14" .223 and in a 15" 7x08.  It is my powder of choice and I recommend it highly.  Flash is not a problem.

I would also recommend W748.  It shoots well in all the calibers I use it for, including 223, 7-30 etc.  Also, Winchester powders such as 748 throw consistent charges without having to weigh each one.

I use H-322 for both.
