Deer

Hey guys hope you can help me:

I found a new place to deer hunt...........on the back end of a large lake. It's all public property...........but no one hunts it because you have to walk five miles to the back of the lake. I was thinking of getting a canoe and using it to get to the back of the lake....and beach it there..then hunt.

Question..........have you guys seen many deer from your boats on the back parts of large lakes and resivors ?

Thanks

Sounds to me like you have found a great spot.  To answer your question yes.

I have been duck hunting three times which I have seen deer in the water, twice they have ran through my decoys.  Both were does.

The first time I saw deer in the water was a big buck running though chest deep (to the deer) water at full speed.  Kind of was a weird sight.

All three times were in the largest lake in Oklahoma.

Good luck on your new spot hope you get "big daddy" next fall.
