11 Degree Forcing Cone Cut?
« on: February 20, 2005, 05:40:52 PM »
11 degree cut forcing cone cuts seem to be a popular enhancment in big bore revolvers, when shooting hard cast.

I guess my question is: Can an 11 degree cut be a drawback, if both cast & jacketed bullets are used?

Thanks in advance!

I wonder how the 11 degree cut was arrived at? It seems odd to me that 11 degrees is also what most target shooters and gunsmiths agree is the optimum angle for a target crown. I wonder if it was just that that was the cutter they had on hand...as they used to say on Saturday Night Live, "very suspicious"....<><.... :-D

oh well, as long as it works, who's to question it....

My question is that if it has been proven to be better WHY aren't the gun manufacturers doing it ???
Just another worthless opinion!!
