Was in my local wally world and saw a beautiful 700 adl with a laminated stock...was wondering if the SPS will be available in that same stock??  The ADL ,270 I have is in walnut, and I love it, but that laminated stock, when I held it and got a close look...is absolutely georgeous..

The last S in SPS stands for synthetic. So unless they offer an SP line of rifle, they won't have it in a wood stocked offering. :D

no they will not.  like already posted, the s means synthetic.  They may offer a similar gun as a special offer though.  they do that from time to time and do not list it in their catalog, you probably wont even find it on the internet.  my vls has a laminate thumbhole stock, and it is not available through remington.  luckily I work for a remington master dealer, so I learn about the cool stuff that they dont tell anyone about.  They do the special make ups to see if they sell well, kind of an experimental gun.  Mine will be available some time next year becuase they made 100 of them and the company I work (not to mention any names) and we sold ALL of them within a day or two.  so keep your eyes peeled for what you are looking for.

I got to hold each of these yesterday in my local gun shop....I have heard the ATR is a shooter....but man there is alot of Plastic on that gun....and the Remington SPS  stock is synthetic ...hollow synthetic.....felt like a toy.....the ATR stock was much better ( out of the box).....but I guess a guy could always swap out ,,,,,,,,held a 710 and a 700.....seems a coin flip to me........dont know which one is cheaper...I guess that is why I am looking for a laminated or Walnut stock.....my 2 cents.....
