Anyone purchased a walnut blank online?
« on: February 20, 2005, 09:24:22 PM »
There are some great pictures of walnut blanks online the prices seem very reasonable.
Would like to hear about peoples experiences both good and bad.
Has anyone had experience with purchasing blanks from Chiron online?
Many Thanks.

I bought several 2 piece blanks(sets) and a few 1 piece and was quite pleased.  You must look closely at photoes of both sides and it is difficult sometimes to differentiate between grain flow and figure.  I have been lucky but have seen several blanks that weren't of any use as stock blanks, the grain flow was all wrong..  It's safer in person but even then one has to be careful.
