My son has been shooting a .243 NEF since he was 9...he is 13 now , and I am getting the idea that he needs to move up to a .270 caliber for deer, elk, etc..and keep the single shot .243 for a varmit gun...(although he has taken several deer with the .243). I have this urge mostly because of the bolt action. He feels the single shot is, perhaps , a limitation if the chance for a second shot was necessary. My question is, does anyone have an opinion on the New Remington SPS (which I think took over for the ADL), and am I no giving enough credit to the .243..which has been a fantastic gun for him. Thanks......
