375 Win vs 444 Marlin - assuming handloading

Ok, let's forget for a moment that the 375 Win never really caught on.  And lets consider the bullet selection wide open.  Say the rifle uses a box magazine so pointed bullets are completely fine.

If costs were the same and supplies weren't an issue, which round would be better for general big game hunting?
