Reduced loads for the WSM's
« on: February 21, 2005, 01:44:26 PM »
I have my eye on a Browning A-bolt Hunter Left Hand  model.  They only come in the WSM's, and I'd rather have a 7-08 or 7x57 Mauser.  I like everything about the gun except the chamberings offered.  I already have a 300 Win Mag and don't want or need another magnum.

Can a 270WSM or 7WSM be loaded down with accurate loads that would approximate a 270 Win or 7x57 Mauser?  Anyone have specific load data and experience with this?

Thanks Steve,
But I'm looking for something a little different, the Medallion as well as the Stainless Stalker are offered in conventional 270 Win and 30/06.  I already have a Stainless Stalker LH in 25/06.  I may end up with a 30/06 Stainless Stalker, to replace my 300 Win Mag. but was looking for a lighter recoiling short action model if possible.  If the Mico Hunter had at least a 22" barrel instead of a 20" I'd be considering it more strongly in a LH 7-08.  It seems hard to find the features I want (LH, 23"-24" barrel) in a caliber that interests me (preference for a 7X57).  The Hunter LH model comes closest but is only offered in the WSM's.  So I thought if I could accurately download the 270 or 7mm WSM I'd be happy with it.
