Mount for Mossberg 640K
« on: February 22, 2005, 04:24:14 AM »
What mount would fit into the dovetail on a Mossberg 640ka 22 mag?  Rings attached leave the scope too far forward.  I also can't mount a large 6-18xi40 without using see through mounts which are just not stable.  This thing will shoot half inch groups at 50 yards with Rem premier 33 gar va-max's.  Any suggestions?  Would bkl scope mounts work, thinking Model 274A 3/8" AND 11mm base 1" tube.

Or should I just have it drilled and tapped for a rail?  Thanks.

You might try BKL rings.   This will put the center of your scope at just over 1.00".  I will forward you a PM with more info.  Don

I purchased the BKL Model 274A 3/8" AND 11mm base 1" tube from Brownells.  They fit nice and they get the scope far enough back for perfect eye relief.  This mount is rugged.  Shot it at the range on Sunday and get 50 cent size groups at 100 with 33 gr v-max 22 mags.
