We had a pretty, warm day yesterday, so a few of us decided to have a fun match at the 22 range. Set up the targets and when we got to the ram line the guy next to me hit the first ram and it turn 180 degrees and stayed on the rail looking the other way. That, you would think would be impossible. Has anyone had that happen before? I have seen pigs and turkeys turn 180 in big bore pistol matches but nothing like this.

Love my new Kimber and I don't care what others say about them.

Can't wait until next month and my first match. Love this game.

Since we've established with the thread on wind that the first liar doesn't stand a chance on this board... ;-)

Last year (IIRC it was at the PeEll match) one competitor shot a chicken that flew up in the air, turned over and came back down ON THE STAND upside down; resting on the tip of its tail and the top of its head just as though the target setter had positioned it that way. (The spotter called it a hit and it was bullet marked -- it hadn't been just sitting there.) Since the foot had definitely left the stand, he was awarded the target.

I've seen just about any silly target response you can name but that one was probably the most unusual.

No way to top that one..well let's not over react..someone will come along shortly.

I thought my HP chicken that turned 180* with a full 7-08 bulet mart on low breast was something last week... Suprising part is that this is the same load I shoot at rams and have yet to loose one, haven't shot much, but haven't lost any either.

Was it a 1 foot or 2 foot beast? I spun a ram 180 degree in an air rifle match last year. It was a single foot target. Yep, of course it had to be #10 in the string! :-D Although, the chicken flip definitely has the spinning beat as a good trick.... that should have been worth extra points.

I didn't believe the picture of the 90 degree pig, standing on the front foot, that someone posted last year but have since seen 180 Highpower pig-turns with my own eyes. Spotted and watched one at Zwolle turn very slowly 180 degrees until the back foot swung back onto the rail. As the man said, you can't MAKE 'em balance that way. I don't guess the ram, with the weight of the horns, should surprise us. I suppose if you watch long enough you'll see all sorts of unlikely things.

I love this kind of stuff!

Shooting at the CTSA range near New Braunfels, Tx in '84, I hit a pig dead center with my .308.
My coach said, you're not going to believe this - but take another look at that pig (#5 in the string).

A huge triangular piece of steel - with the bullet impact point at the top, measuring about 8" at the bottom had been neatly removed from the animal.

The pig was still standing and I saw this in some magazine later in the year (wish I kept it).
No hit!
