RCBS Rockchucker with Piggyback??
« on: February 22, 2005, 10:22:08 AM »
Anybody useing a RCBS rockchucker with the piggyback set-up for progressive reloading?   A friend has one of each NIB that he wants to sell for $100. I'm currently using lee 1000's and am pretty content but am wondering if the piggyback set-up is a viable "upgrade" or  a waste of time.
Experienced thoughts welcome.

Jump on that deal!  If you don't want it, send me an e-mail on how to contact him and I will buy it.

I have an old one (Piggyback I or II) that I am using for .223 and straight wall pistol.   I have modified mine a bit, but it work well for me.  Don't know about the newer ones.

It won't handle longer cases like my AmmoMaster will and that is the only negative comment I can make about it.  It's nice because the shell plates are a little pricey and I can use the same shell plates on both the Piggyback and the AmmoMaster.

My bro has an early one and has mixed feelings about it. Some of the stages are in difficult places and he feels it's a bit clumsy compared to some of the others. Once it's set up it seems to work fine though.

I had one of the first. I could not stand it. it did not work that well and it was a pain in the butt to set up and take down if i wanted to load larger cases.
I would pass on the deal and spend the money on a better setup.
there is a reason he is selling it.
