Handi or Ultra What is the difference?

I have a few questions for you guys. What is the difference between an H&R Ultra and an NEF Handi?  I am interested in a 223 Ultra in sporter barrel and a 308 in ultra sporter or maybe a 7-08. The Ultra does not come in 7-08 but the Handi does. Do the sporter barrels shoot or should I go to the ultra varmint in 223 ? Does anyone have a 308 and how do they shoot? I have no experience with H&R rifles as I have never even seen one. I like how they look and I want to shoot a single shot and these are well priced if they are any good.

I don't own any of the ultras but i have one of the 223 bull barreled handi rifles and it's a real tack driver.  As for the 7-08 i have never heard anything bad about the ones that are chamber in it. It is probably one of the most over looked catridges that is offered by H&R. It seems that the bull barreled guns do better as far as accuracy goes but every once in awhile you see or hear of a good spotster weight barrel doing pretty good.

Howsitgoin' eh!  I'm a transplanted Canuck down here in Oklahoma & I have 1 of each. Depends on what you are going to do with them. My 7-08 is standard & the 223 & 308 are bulls the 223 shoots the best but the 308 & 7-08 will group 1.5 in or so at a 100 yrds & the 223 about .5-1.0 if I can do my part. Go ahead & get one I have a number of them & am always looking for more. Try a 4570 lots of bang for your buck but if you don't reload the 223 is the cheapest to shoot down here below the 49th
