I bought a "One Ragged Hole"
« on: February 22, 2005, 02:36:00 PM »
Originally purchased it for my Ruger Blackhawk.  It comes with 2 aperature blades so after choosing the one I wanted on my Blackhawk, I "engineered" the other one to fit my 45-70 barrel  :-)

Mac, the bad posts have been deleted by Matt or GB, there are still some remnant replies left in the wake of the offenders posts.

I have to admit, I am pretty irritated and disgusted that this post got caught up in the "hacker games" yesterday.  It's not this site's fault, nor was it mine, but I just hated seeing that trash linked to my post ... OK - rant off.

cabezaverde, my Blackhawk is a 44mag.  I hope to get to the range today or tomorrow on my lunch break to give these new sights a try.

As some of you know, I 've been trying to find a way to keep my 45-70 Handi really simple.  I didn't like the leaf sights that came with it ... I just don't like leaf sights.

I thought about using something from Lyman or Williams, but the cost just didn't set very well with me either.  Yeah, I'm a cheap old fart ...

So, I've read about these for a while, exchanged PM's with a few poeple that have them, and at a cost of $24.95, I decided to give them a try.

As I said, I hope to get to the range today or tomorrow and will give a range report when I cget back.

It looks good I am having sights put on a 12 ga barrel for turkeys & I  like peeps, Was going to use my 4570 sights I took off but put the rear back farther so a peep would work, Need info on part & how you modified it to work with a handi sight I'm kinda cheap too & would like to utilize what I have

Thanks

ONE HOLE 4570,

Just go to oneraggedhole.com and order the sight for the Handi Rifle.  It will fit without any modification.  Same price ...

I had to tweak this one a bit because it was the extra one that came for my Ruger Blackhawk.

I just got back fromt he range a few minutes ago and have admit, I like this set-up.

With my Blackhawk I saw an honest 25% improvement on my groups.  I took my 45-70 as well, but didn't get a good idea of groups because I was using my .223 frame with it and it was not locking-up correctly.  I quit shooting it after 4 rounds.  The were stringing STRAIGHT up and down, but DEAD CENTER.  I called that pretty promising.

My 45-70 frame is at H&R getting a new barrel.  When it comes back, I'll give it another try.
