what do you guys think rem sps, rem vls, winchester 40 stealth, winchester coyote, tikka t-3, what about rem 700 ald do you think i should get one scince i dont have and you may not be able to get one in the future, what about a weaterby vaguard. thanks.

I have the vls in 22-250 and I love it super accurate but it is not a gun you will do alot of walking with

Kimber makes a nice one too. I just got the Rem VLSSTH but that is just for bench shooting. You can't beat the savage for price.

I would say skip the laminated stock and get a fiberglass job with an aluminum bedding block. My .22-250 Varmint Synthetic is about 20 years old, and will put five, (not 3, or 4 with a flier B.S.) into one ragged hole at 100 yards, with a warm load of 52 grain BTHPs. But like kenscot said about his vls, it is not a gun you will do alot of walking with.

forget the winchesters, rugers and savages, gets a VLS or VS. You wont regret it. ive already purposely used mine with the bipod and sling to see if it was doable, and yes even though its heavy, its not terrible.

I bought an LV-SF in 22-250. It's a very nice rifle, light and easy to carry. The extra $50 back from Remington makes it an even better deal. As soon as time/weather allow, I'll begin to break it in. MI VHNTR

I have no experience with the 'exotic' line of rifles Remington puts out. By this I mean the match grade and varmint rifles. I just have a plain jane 700 ADL Syn. And I think that's all I'll ever need. But who knows?....

If I were buying a new 22-250 today it would be the new Rem XP-100 single shot varmint rifle with the laminated thumbhole stock You get a solid bottom action for stiffness and a Rem 5R barrel and a trigger that can be adjusted. Looks like a potential winner to me

Fishman029, I haven't got a chance to shoot it yet. It's been snowing since Saturday and it's not supposed to quit until maybe Wednesday. This is after we receive a total of 2'-3'+ of snow, so I won't be shooting it for a while. :cry: Oh well, spring will soon be here. I hope. The mountain rifles are very nice and the detachable mag makes them even better. They are very nice rifles. MI VHNTR

Here's the snow tally so far: Sat. 8", Sun. 14", Mon. 12" +. Forecast says 6"-12" tonight and the same for tomorrow. All thanks to Lake Superior and lake effect snow. This will continue until late Tues. night. The actual amounts can/will be higher. It just depends on the wind. Snowfall rates of 2"+ per hour can be expected. The Super Duty will be busy again tomorrow. It'll be a while before the rifle gets broken in though. MI VHNTR

I sighted my VLS in 2 weeks ago in 20 degrees with 15 to 20mph winds...NOT pleasant :evil:

I took my dog out 2 hours ago and it wasnt bad, I hear the snowplows go by so I look out the window...

to my dismay I see a good 3 to 4" already :eek: and this storm warning doesnt end for another 6 to 10 hours.

lets build snowmen, and spray paint targets on them(ofcourse we'd need a good backstop) :-)

The weatherman wasn't kidding, a foot + of snow last night and more today. The lake effect snow warning has been extended until 11 AM Wednesday. Another 4"-7" tonight and 2"-4" tomorrow and it's supposed to finally end. Spring starts on March 20th? Yeah right. It sure would be nice to take the plow off of my truck. MI VHNTR
