newbie sidekick questions

Brought her home yesterday fits super.sidekick SS/comp w 24" barrel.Please tell me how to prepare her for first shots?Please tell me a simple cleaning regimen both after and between shots?FYI $199 with cva wood range rod included.
Brass rod w/gun looks bad would not let me change to black.

Will the scope rail from my .223 Handi fit the sidekick?
Will H&R put a 12 ga. TDC barrel on a sidekick frame?
The CVA range rod came with no accesssories would someone give me a list of what I need for loading/cleaning?

For answering this I will guarente you more grandchildren,goats and cattle.

As far as your scope rail question...I believe the rails are all the same for any NEF/H&R except the Ultras.
What I found with my Sidekick was when I mounted the scope my line of sight was too low on the straight style stock. So I ended up replacing the original wood with monte carlo composite.....made all the difference I needed.
Clean your barrel really good,,,,,,I also used bore polish on mine. My gun likes the PowerBelt 295 hp and two 777 50 grain pellets. But don't be afraid to experiment.   Great shooting rifle.
