Ballistic coefficient ?
« on: February 23, 2005, 05:10:49 AM »
I would like to find the ballistic coefficient and sectional denseity of the 7mm Rem. softpoint corelock bullet in 140 grain at 2450 fps. It's not listed in my ballistic software. And contacting Remington turned out to be a pain. Thanks, LouisV

Another thing you can do is to go to the web sites of bullet makers like Hornady, Nosler, and Speer. Look for bullets similar to the one you use, and that should give you a close approximation of the BC and SD of your bullet.

I found the exact bullet in Ballistic Explorer. The BC is .381. Sectional density is not listed but it will be about .248.

According to a copy of the 2004 Remington catalog, the BC of that particular bullet is .390, and they ought to know.
