I'm working up a load of 27gr W748 using Combined Technology 50gr. bullets. Since seating the bullet just off the rifling is out of the question due to the bullets length, how far should I seat the bullet into the case?

I'd just seat to factory specs. Many have tried seating long but it seems to make little difference.

The most commonly refered powders seem to be BL-C(2) and H335 for the Handi 223's. My most accurate load is 27gr of H335 with Hornady 40gr Vmax.

i echo handirifles comments. i've tried different seating depths, but have not found consistent patterns yet...

I can get 2.263" AOL using Nosler or Speer BTHP's. These bullets seem to be about the longest available (0.739") except for the heavy weight .224's meant for the faster twist barrels.
This length of 2.263" only has about 0.030" of room left in the magazine, but they still cycle well without a bit of trouble in my A-bolt Browning. I know I'm still way off of the rifling tho, I wish I could get closer, but it ain't gonna happen.
