reduced loades for 308 win.

Just purchased an Encore with a 15" 308 win barrel at a good price.   I plan on trying it for big bore.  I currently use a 7-30 waters in a contender but you know a good deal and you just have to try it.

Does any one have any reduced load data for the 308.  So I can reduce target damage and recoil.

I think I'd start with IMR4198, 4759, or AA5744 and shoot for maybe 1700-1900 fps with 175's. There is a lot of cast bullet data out there that will get you in the area you'll want to run. The .308 will make a good big bore round, once you work up some accurate mild loads for it.
