Anybody using a rifle scope on a TC or Encore?  What is your technique?  This really interests me given tha 3X12 is the most power you can get for a pistol scope.

have done and when the wound heals will not due again.

really on compensatored barrels no problem but heavy kickers stay back the optics higher than 3x12 your eye relief allows for no uncontroled kick......

I have at times on my rimfire barrels, and .22Hornet nothing bigger. I find now  that at the ranges I normally shoot my Contenders the Burris 3-12X is more than enough so none currently ware a rifel scope.
Love those .41s'

Ditto to what Chris said on check past posts.  The only thing I could add to those old posts is that I am likely going to be using a 40x Leupold on a centergrip XP in either 6.5-284, 6-284 or 7mm WSM.  Yes, all three are braked.

Xphunter,

I have rear grip custom XP in 6PPC.  It shoots .1 and .2 inch groups with boring regularity.  It wears a 3X12 Burris right now.  I want to put a rifle scope on it to shoot at 200 and 300 yards, but 6PPC kicks a  little too much to trust my eyeball so close to the scope.  Does braking really help?  I don't mind the noise, this gun is strickly a range queen.   It will never see woods nor stream.

Brakes do help (can't comment on a 6PPC though).  Weighing the stock down will also help.  I don't even try to get a full FOV when using rifle scopes.  I will get a full field of view to begin with and then back off to a safe distance for the SP I am shooting.
The best option for high magnification with LER  is to get a Leupold 36X and have Wally Siebert convert into a 20X LER handgun scope.  I have one and I love it.

BTW if you know of anyone that wants to experiment with a rifle scope versus LER scope on a specialty handgun in field conditions with field rests at steel targets at unknown distances.  Call it practical practice (not to mention just a whole lot of fun) for shooting and hunting with SP's,  give me a holler (PM).
