whats the deal with the armor alloy barrels?

i think i spelled it right :?
whats the deal with them?where they made for a short time?now TC has stainless steel instead of armor alloy?are they just as good as SS?

Armour Alloy barrels are nickel plated and I have two barrels and one AA frame.  I like them.  You have to open up the hinge pin hole to interchange with blue frames.
