New 22mag ultra
« on: February 24, 2005, 04:33:18 PM »
Got my new 22mag ultra today from Gander Mountain, same price as Wally World, it is a very nice piece, the laminate is very nice. They didn't have the rings that I wanted so it will have to wait for a scope, may take a ride tomorrow to see if I can find some locally. Overall I am very pleased with the look and feel of the gun, needs to be cleaned and the bbl.  JBd before I take it out to shoot, (can't wait), looks nice along side of the 223 ultra and the 17hmr and the 20ga. Pardner.

I still want to purchase a 22mag Ultra Varmint and send it back to H&R for the 17HMR barrel...Seems the only way to get the laminate stocks on a 17 without just buying the stocks and swapping out the plastics that come on the 17.  This was I get two guns to shoot for a minimal investment.

Scrubbed the barrel tonight with JB, lapped the rings and mounted the scope, now I just need the weather to cooperate so I can get it sighted in. Coyote season is open until April 15, but fox and bobcat closes on March 1, really want to try it out on something other than paper. :sniper:
