I need suggesstions on what cartridge size to use on deer. I have been told the balistic tip is the way to go. Is 140 the standard or do any of you go lighter.

i shoot 41.5gr h4895 with 120gr nosler bt's @ 2800fps in my 15" 7-08. only shot one deer with that particular barrel so far, but it worked great which was no surprise to me.
the 140gr would be be fine also. H4895 and Varget would be the powders of choice most likely.

I use a Hornady 139 sp fb with 4064 powder and cci 200 primers. For the kids I would soft load with 36 grains of 4064. One shot kills to 100 yds. The kids are older so I am now using 39 grains of 4064.
