Has anyone tried the lee 459-500-3R ? this is a spitzer bullet for long range shooting. Does anyone know if this will work in the NEF and Buffalo Classic.? Thanks. I want to find a good heavy long range thumper. Any other good choices? I would rather buy them already cast but If need be I quess I would try casting my own.
shot placement is everything.

I've been wanting to try that one too.  I have shot the Lee 500 grain flat nose out of my italian Sharps and have done alright.  It has the same pitch to the riflings as the Handi, 1:20.  Yesterday I shot some groups that went 1-3/4 and 1-7/8" at 100 yards with the flat nose.  It's a gas check bullet but I've been shooting it without and loading with black powder.
Thanks,

Man...you guys are going to get me involved in casting before ya know it. I've just really never been interested in DIY boolits...too easy to just buy um but with me getting into shooting BP...it just seems like a natural progression...thanks ...I think... for helping me to spend even more money to get set up....... This Handi-haulism is realy a bad deal...especially where my wallet is concerned!! :-D  :-D
