Quick, effective stock finish......?
« on: February 27, 2005, 02:08:13 AM »
I am setting up a small, handy truck rifle.

   The base is an Anschutz "woodchucker"....(that's a youth model .22 LR with 5 shot mag).

   I had to extend the stock...and it's NOT pretty...but that's not what I'm looking for...the important thing is, it shoots like an Anschutz.

    Now I'd like to put a easy to apply, water resistant, durable finish on it.

   What would you suggest?

If you're not looking for cheap, you could sand the mating line between original stock and add on real smooth. Then send it in for the dipped camo finish. If you are looking for cheap do same but paint it yourself. Let the dip finish or paint cover up the fact it has the add on.

Thanks GB;

       I hadn't thought of the camo finish....it is probably exactly what I need on that rifle...

      Paint, instead of clear finish will cover the joint spot also!
