I had been using my Marlin 1894 in .38/.357 for CAS.  Fine gun except it only held 9 shots and my fat fingers and the small loading gate were not exactually made for each other.  
Found a Marlin 94 in .45LC with a 24" barrel on the internet.  Got it a couple of days ago and I'm in love.  I just like the looks of the gun with this longer barrel (other has a 18" or so).  And the big old .45LC rounds load wonderfully.  Now all I have to do is wait for my shoulder to heal enough to take it out for a drive.  Can't wait.

I have the Marlin too, I can get 10 38's in mine OAL is the key. But then I'll file that away for a reason to buy a 44-40. Hopin my wife will want the 38's.  Good Luck with your shoulder I'm having trouble too but luckily its my left shoulder.  Charlie Bull     :twisted:    :twisted:

The reason the .38 Marlin only holds 9 is that it has an 18" barrel.  If it were 20" it would hold 10.
