223 accuracy potential ???????
« on: February 28, 2005, 10:50:28 AM »
has anyone run into a 223 that didn't shoot good ? I'm looking at used 223 online and wonder if certain models/ barrel weights/ or ? shot better than others ? I still have dies, cases and lots of 50-55 gr bullets and powder.

Richard TX     stainless 22 Hornet due in this week, could be shooting by weekend if weather holds!!!!!!!!

Yup, there have been a couple reported on here, one is Longcruise's, don't remember the other owner. My 24" BB Ultra shoots the WWB 45gr JHP at less than 1" all the time with a couple groups less than 1/2" when I'm shooting good! It shoots better that me, most of the time....

I love my .223 UV, but the critters sure don't like it. When I was first thinking of getting one the guys at the gun shop said they (H&R-NEF) are good guns for the money, and that they have had few complaints about them. Mine was 'used' (the owner shot a few whistle pigs with it) and I got it right then  -It shoots better than me. I don't think you would be making a bad desision getting the .223.
