Yesterday I headed up into the Wrangell Mountians and snowmachined back into a lake to ice fish. Beautiful day. Sunny, light wind and temperatures in the 30's.
We fished about 6-10 feet of water using shrimp, ice fishing jigs laced with strips of herring and flies. I limited out with 10 - 15"-20" rainbows and our group of three ended up with 26 fish.
What a great day up here in Alaska. The ice was only 12" thick, normally it is 4' this time of year.
