I've just started trying to work up some loads for Cowboy Lever Action Silhouette.
I was given a gallon bucket of RP once-fired 30-30 brass.
When I started to trim for length, (Lee case trimmer mounted in an electric drill), some of the brass seemed to be as crooked as a wet noodle.
I was careful to make sure it wasn't just the way it was held in the shell holder, rotated it, put it aside and tried another case that appeared to be fairly straight, etc.
How much will this affect accuracy? (Win. 94, 26" bbl)
Will the cases straighten out any after firing?
I have tried annealing them down the shoulder as far as I dared, didn't seem to have any effect.
I have fired these cases a couple of times, and full-length resized them, no apparent change.
I have reloaded for a lot of different calibers over 50+ years and don't remember having this kind of problem.
Need advice from some of you experienced lever-action shooters.
