you seem to be the Saiga expert around here so here is part of a thread from another board about the Canadian importer of Saiga rifles.

are any of the guns he mentioned the AK type you have? Armrus sells only Russian made firearms. i'm buying a TOZ 34R O/U 12 ga later this year. it's a good quality , well built and beautiful gun and it's only $395 Cdn! for a gun that good looking by another maker it starts at about $1,100

 Thanks, Kevin

kevin.303;  You have to try a saiga and i hope you can buy them soon in the north country too.  The only Saiga's I own(308) and have seen so far are the Saiga Sporter in Synthetic Stocks in 308win and .223.  I hope the new importer in Kentucky does a better job than EAA did and we see the Saiga model 100 "Hunter" and the tigr when they start importing them here in late March again.  When Remington bought into the Russian Ihmash line of shotguns they didn't want any part of the saiga line of rifles.  I think when Remington took over EAA corp(importer) and left the saiga rifles with no importer here.  They also make some awesome bolt action rifles too besides the semi-auto's and quality shotguns.   There semi auto shotguns are awesome too there also an AK design too. They have a line of over/unders too.  Its an out of the box new russian made rifle it didn't stop at Century Arms to be reworked by some butcher gunsmith then sold to us the fit, finish and operation is perfect.  The saiga has the reliability, dependability and the russian quality built in at an affordable price too.  I look forward to owning more saiga's.   BigBill

The saiga line of rifles are an AK rifle in a wood or synthetic sporter stock most of the guys who buy this rifle are converting it to an "AK" looking rifle with pistol grip and all the AK wood too.  I'm not converting mine there staying orginal in there all weather stocks because there going hunting.

To checkout there many "hunting guns" go to;

http://www.Izhmash.ru/eng/       Then click on "products"
                                                 Then click on "weapons"
                                                  Then go down to "hunting guns"

Also for pics of the two saiga's in "wood and synthetic stocks" go to;

http://securityarms.com    then punch in "saiga" then click on "saiga hunting rifles"  the black one is the one there selling here right now.

there the 7.62x39 rifles but the 308 looks similiar in the synthetic stk there definitely a black beauty.
