I never tried it but to be honest with you most military ammo I have used was not that great for accuracy, with the exception of the English 308 ammo which is like match ammo and I have heard the Swiss GP11 is very good. I gave up shooting 8MM and 7MM surplus in my rifles it was not that accurate and though I do not mind cleaning after corrosive ammo why bother when you can reload and get better  noncorrosive, reloadable, and  more accuate ammo to boot. Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I reload 7mm but I also want another sources for plinkin and hunting varmit ammo too.  I like to use all three sources available to us, I purchase new ammo(PMC/ sellier & bellot 7mm), I reload 7mm with 150gr PP winchester bullets, plus I purchased surplus ammo in the FN brand from Samco too.  I was just wondering if anyone has shot the surplus FN 7mm ammo.  I try to do this with all my military guns by having 3 sources of ammo.  I'm retired but i don't want to spend all my time reloading but as the surplus ammo dries up I guess i'll reload more but thats a long way off.                                       BigBill

I have used a lot of it that was manufactured in 1969-1970
and have no complaints with it. It is comparable to any new factory
stuff I have recently fired.

S.Sumner  Thanks I'm going to shoot soon with my 1893 chilean 7mm project  gun so i know ahead of time its the barrel and not the ammo if it groups bad.  I made the mistake of not shooting the three of them first to see which one shoots better with iron sights I just picked one to put a scope on to use for hunting.  It won't be a waste I'll just rebarrel it if it does shoot bad.                                              BigBill

I'm going to shoot my swede too for the postal shoot.
