I got my sporster back yesterday(had a 17 hmr barrel fitted :grin: ). I was going to remove the scope rail to lock tight it,and the screws acted like they were locktited already.I couldn't get them loose.Do you think H&R has started doing this lately? I don't have a problem with it,I know people have had problems with the rails being loose in the past.Do you think they are listening in on us?I sure hope they are,because they could have a  really nice product.Here's my suggestion to H&R......GET RID OF THOSE STUPID PLASTIC TRIGGER GUARDS AND FOREARM SPACERS.I would gladly pay more for the rifles with STEEL or ALUMINIUM  guards and spacers already installed. :?

Yup, all the new H&R rifles I've bought have had a loctite like substance on the scope rail scews, but I still like to remove it, clean the surface good, make sure the screws aren't too long as has been reported by some, and loctite it in place. Then I know there's not gonna be a problem with the scope mounting.

My 243 barrel was locktited. But like quickdtoo I also removed it to. Can't keep my hands off of stuff I guess. :agree:
