I would really enjoy seeing pics of your proudest kill with a handi.  With the pic, please tell us what makes this animal so special.

Thanks,

Jim

Female Bobcat.  BIG female bobcat.  Weighed about 35 pounds.

Taken with a Handi in 7mm-08 Rem. 120 grain handloads.

Still can't see the bobcat very good.

It's a $900.00 camera and I still can't take pictures worth a darn

Here's a picture of my son's first goose that he took with his NEF 20 gauge Pardner.  I know the title of this post was "proudest kill with a handi".  I hope that a picture of "proudest kill with a pardner" is OK too.

Thanks

2002 Wyoming Antelope Hunt.
.243 Handi
Speer 100 gr BTSP
Simmons 3X9 scope
314 yards

This was my first big game animal that I shot with a Handi.  It was my sons Handi and he was kind enough to let me borrow it.  He let me use it this year also and I took my buck at 338 yards this year.  This .243 is a great little shooter and I love it.  Wish I had a pic of it in the field.

i dont do pictures very well so i hope this link works. but me and a very mad hog looked at each other eye to eye at about 14 feet before he droped his head and started coming. my little stainless 243 saved my fanny that day. i hope i did the link right.

Nice hog!!!!

Here's my pic....and ramblings.  Growing up on small game and graduating to birds with a Gordon setter,  I was never really interested in big game.  Then on a whim, I decided to apply for a Michigan elk tag.  Yup, got a shooter's choice tag and during the rut!  Picked out a beautiful Ruger #1, then the wife saw the price tag!  Yup, my only option from her was the Handi; so I got the .280Rem.
I cow-called this guy in to about 100yds.  I was sitting in a small depression with my Handi in my homemade shooting sticks.  My buddy told me to shoot, but an unseen hill made it so I couldn't see him.  Finally, the bull scented us and started taking off.  My buddy told me to stand up and shoot.  At the shot, the bull stopped and looked back at us.  I asked if I hit him(no reaction from the animal), and my buddy yelled for me to shoot him again.  Before I could eject my shell, he fell....

Dakotaelkslayer,

It is nothing short of amazing that you got a tag, I have been trying for years. The rules now say that if you get a cow tag then you can't apply again for ten years, and if you get a bull tag then your done for life. With only 1200 or so elk in the herd they only issue a few tags to the 10's of thousends that apply.

Congrats on the tag and the bull.

I don't have the pic. scaned but my only game with my handi was two hogs with one shot. The sounder had about 12 or so hogs in it (most looked like babies) and one good sized sow, I waited for all the small ones to clear and took my shot. At the shot all hell broke lose in the brush, and she took off.  I went to where she was and found a good blood trail, following it up I found a little runt with a perfect lung shot, I thought "I know she was bigger than that". I then looked to my left and there the big one was, with another perfect lung shot. The only thing we can figure is the little one was standing right next to her on the far side and with a 270 from 10 yards I had a pass through that killed both hogs with one shot. The next day I took a huge boar with my .41 mag blackhawk. This 400lb boar never even ran, one shot to the neck and he fell over kicking and squelling and died right on the spot.

My finest take with the Handi so far.  165gr Sierra GameKing out of 30-06.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
