I also have bought several items from Ed.  Two weeks ago at the Tulsa gun show I asked Ed if he had a certain cal in contender as I wanted to buy one and he looked me in the eye and said yes and walked off.  I stood there several minutes before leaving.  No more calls or visits from me.  I can find what I need on the web or have it made from custom barrel makers.  Not sour grapes but will not trade with or buy from him again.

I think his business is doing a little too good. Seems he has forgotten how it got that way, by taking care of his customers.The last barrel I bought from him will be my last. His prices can be beat if you do a little looking. Mike

Ok, where do I look?    I may not need to though. I just had a guy send me a private message on here and he has a package deal that has everything I need except for the frame!  The scope is a 4x but hey, thats ok.  Especially for the price!  15" 7-08 w/Leupold rings and base and the Simmons 4x scope.  I can always upgrade the scope later.  Thanks for all the reply's and info guys.   And sorry I hijacked this thread.  LOL!

I suggested the answer to this "quandry" earlier in this string.  If you don't want to deal with Ed, don't.  For whatever reason if you want to deal with others then that is where you should be.  You will be happy not dealing with Ed,  Ed will be happy not dealing with you, and those of us who like dealing with Ed will get served faster because he will have more time.

Simple solution not needing many posts.

with almost 1000 views on this topic  i would think some good will come of it.maybe more customers for Ed or maybe less??you just dont know for sure.i wonder if Ed ever checks out this site(graybeards)?i wonder if he read through the topic?must be not the last time i checked out his web site it still hasnt been updated.

well its like this for me.he lost my buisness on my last barrel purchase but next time he may not.

if i can get a straight deal without having to read between the lines i may deal with him.just depends if there is some BS to wade though again.on my next barrel purchase Ed will have a chance but only a chance
