« on: March 05, 2005, 01:32:42 AM »
I'm thinking about putting a tritium front sight on my 2 1/4 inch 357 101.  anybody done this?  Did you like it? Which one, I think Trijicon and Meprolite offer them.

thanks

tritium sight on an SP101??

I looked into this for my SP----problem was/is you have to drill your own hole in the sight to mount it up---I figured for the $40 they want for it ---they could at least have it finished and ready to go for you----so I passed on it.

I've kinda been thinking about putting the CT laser grips on it instead--point and shoot---would seem to work quite well at night----just don't turn on the laser till you're ready to shoot so as not to give away your position.

wow I'd have to drill a hole??? I was assuming I would be buying a sight blade with the tritium already mounted.  Hoped I could just drift out the pin holding the stock sight and replace with a new glow in dark blade one. Hmm thanks for the heads up.

BTW I have the CTC grips on my gun and love them.  Discovered that little gun is really accurate with those grips.  Just that I thought there might be a time when the battery might not work or I couldn't get to the main switch and the tritium sight would be a nice backup. From the few I've handled, I like the way the CTC grip switch works on revolvers much better than on the sample autoloaders I've tried. On the 101 my fingers always touch the switch but on auto loaders I often have to shift my hands around to touch the switch - I have small hands.

I contacted Brownell's and they say they now have 2 drop in trituim sight blades for the SP 101. About $50.  I'll have to shake the piggy bank again.
