Time to renew the anti-virus.
« on: March 05, 2005, 04:30:01 AM »
I've been subscribing to Norton for the last few years, but now I'm thinking about switching to something else.  It seems that they are restricting their product to one computer.  I think this sucks.

I can understand that they don't want their program passed around, but when you have more than one computer, you shouldn't have to buy a copy for each machine.  Besides, I think they are a little too proud of their program--the price keeps going up.

I've been told that there are several other brands that do just as well as Norton and some of them don't require activation.  Any suggestions?

Try the free version of AVG, you can download it here: http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

It's done a better job for me than Norton did.

I was impressed enough with the free AVG program that I bought the full blown version for $33.50 wich gives you free updates and support for 2 years.  Have not had a single virus problem in the 3 years that I have been using AVG.
