Target Model barrel options ?
« on: March 06, 2005, 01:53:13 AM »
I am thinking I would like a shorter 45-70 barrel for my 38-55 Target model to hunt with. Does anyone know if NEF will fit the shorter 45-70 barrel to a target frame ? I know I can buy the 32" barrel, but would have to pay to have it cut.

Yes the shorter 45-70 barrel will fit, and so will any other H&R/NEF barrel, shotgun or centerfire....<><....

Thinking about sending it in for a 45-70 and a couple others. When you order a new buttstock, does it include a fore end ?

The butt and forend have separate part numbers, are ordered individually. The parts numbers are listed in the Retail price list available by request from H&R by phone or email.

Hey guys, they don't list the BC/Target Model stocks or forearms in the retail price list nor are there any parts numbers them for them listed. But it's really not a problem, you have to ask the CS person when you order it. My BC forearm, a nice  piece of american black walnut that appears to be hand checked was $31.00 last year if I remember correctly. It is just a hair shy of 12" long to the back of the forearm spacer and looks and fits great on both my 45-70 and my classic 7x57 Handi with the Fajen walnut buttstock....<><....
