Hello to all!......... How much less Hodgdon's H110 should I use under a 310gr hardcast .45 Colt bullet to compensate for shortening the oal from 1.7"(crimping in the groove) to 1.6" (crimping on the ogive) to enable the cartridge to feed thru the action on my '92 Puma rifle for deer & hogs? Normal load is 22-24grs powder. I'd appreciate anyone's feedback. Thanx, jd45.

The best bet is to do a normal load workup... back off to minimum and start over watching for pressure signs.

I went the other way for my 454. Moved out from the cg to the first lube groove. In this case I ended up increasing 3 grains for the .100 increase in case capacity that I gained to equal almost the same vel/psi. I stopped a bit short of my original vel because accuracy was great. But like Haywire said you have to work up! You can do some measuring of powder hights and bullet depths but unless your familiar with doing so it's better to just back it off 4 grains or so and start over. You could also see what a 330g bullet charge is and start from there. I usually only load one or two to start with.
