The post about 44 being accurate got me thinking.

Can I mount a scope on a ventilated rib 10" contender barrel?  The rear sight is the flip up kind and the front is the kind that moves up and down by turning a screw.  Maybe someone makes a clamp system to calm on the ventilated rib or something?

On this barrel the ventilated rib kind of tapers off to the back of the barrel and the rear sight is below the main rib.  The sight built into the rib is what I am saying and sits on the tapered end.

your best bet might be to sell off the V.R. barrel and get your self a normal 10 inch 44 mag barrel.

had seen one some time ago that the rear portion of the rib had been cut away and a mount placed there. It didn't look bad at all but more than likely more work than it's worth.

I thinky rickyp has the right idea, if your not to attached to the barrel.

I thought about selling it.  But, considering how good is shoots and how little the market pays for a choke type barrel, I might as well keep it and buy ANOTHER barrel.  I think it's a great excuse, don't you?  Keep the ribbed barrel for up close work and get the scope mount barrel for the long range finesse work.  Then I might have to get another frame just so I don't have to switch the barrels all the time.

Gee, I love this forum..... :D
