I'm going to buy my wife either a XCR in 375 H&H or a stainless BDL in 375 H&H. I can buy the BDL right now ($100.00 cheaper) and have her shooting it all summer before season and the XCR doesn't start production till mid summer, so it would be close to even get one before season. I guess what I want to know is, is it worth the wait? The only difference I can see is the new coating, whatever that amounts to.

IMHO, I'd go with the XCR. Seems a lot more durable and it depends on where and what you're hunting with it. You're stuck on the .375 H&H, so you might be hunting larger game with it? Either that or your wife likes recoil...

. Anyway, if you're hunting out in the West, you might wanna go with the XCR for it's ability to hold up in different forms of weather. But if you're going to Africa on a safari for water buffalo or sumtin, then you could go with either. I honestly don't like the BDL (looks wise), but you're not me. But that's my :money:.

I guess I should have been more specific. We will be hunting brown bears in Alaska.

Alrighty then. Is this the rifles sole purpose? Otherwise, you'll be able to get off the .375 H&H. I realize you want enough gun with the grizzlies of Alaska, but man, a .338 Win Mag, .338 Rem Mag, and .300 Winchester Mag will kill a grizzly just as dead (I think) as the .375 H&H. Not trying to dissuade you, but geez man, you trying to knock your shoulder off? Imagine trying to sight that sucker in :eek: . 10 rounds at once and you'll wind up in traction :shock: .

But if you'll be hunting bigger and maybe even dangerous game with it, then ignore the previous paragraph. In my judgment, I'd go with the XCR, but as I said before, you're not me. The decision is ultimately yours to make.
