16ga for Turkey
« on: March 07, 2005, 11:59:03 PM »
Anyone ever use a 16ga for Turkey?  I have a very old 16ga Rem Auto Loader with 30in Full choke.  Would that work for turkey until I can come up with cash for Pardner turkey gun?

I think that Dave H. is using his 16ga pardner for turkey this year.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

No Reason why not, I've hunted them since '99 with a 20 gauge...Call them up close and personal and take their head off....MTNMAN

16 will do the job as long as you do.  Make sure that you pattern any gun you are using and be sure of your shot.

Yes I am planning on using the 16 ga for my second tag this year.  I am shooting the PMC heavy feild loads in #4 shot.  I had this gun to the range I few time now.. It does good out to 30 maybe 35 yrds so like
WNY_Whitetailer  get them in close and the 16 will do the job.
