Years ago I met a guy who had a Interarms boltaction in 7.62x39 I dont know if they are still in buisness or if they still chamber that cartridge but at one time they were and did. You pay want to post your question on the boltaction forum or the medium bore forum. I hope this helps and good luck   :-)    :-D

I noticed the 7.62x39 barrel kit at Numrich has a  .308" bore diameter so that kind of rules out shooting the cheap affordable surplus ammo.  I seen on another forum where I think they put an sks barrel in a mauser reciever I'll have to ask about doing it since it will have the best of both worlds besides a chromelined barrel its bore diameter will let you use the .310" cheap surplus ammo which makes sense.  Now it makes me wonder if they used a large or small ring mauser reciever.  I'll have to do some research into it.   There has been bolt action rifles built in the 7.62x39 caliber with using the sks barrel.   Since a used sks barrel costs $20 it sure looks affordable.                               BigBill

Actually a .308 barrel will not cause any problems if the chamber has the 1° throat.  The only thing to check is if the cases will fit as there is a wide variation in base diameters.  The .308" bore allows a much wider choice of bullets for the reloader.

Unless the Mini-Mauser quality has improved substantially from the past, I would go with the CZ.

I found out the sks pinned barrel can be installed into the reciever after drilling it out, installing it  and pinning it.  The gas port has to be plugged and it sounds like it can be done.  I want the right size barrel to shoot the larger diameter cheap imported ammo rather than being stuck with the 308 diameter ammo.  There's .310" diameter bullets available from midwayusa in different weights for reloading too plus the chinese sks  bore is chromed lined thats a plus too.                        BigBill
