Weaver mounts
« on: March 08, 2005, 07:04:01 AM »
I have noticed a difference in spacing for the scope rings on some of my contender weaver mounts. I assumed they would all be the the same allowing me to change a scope from one barrel to another without moving the position of the ring on the scope. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so  anyone here interested in trading bases so they all match?

Just a thought- Tad :D

All my barrels have there own mounts and scopes. I do not want to have to sight in every time i want to shoot a different barrel.

Are those Weaver bases or Weaver style bases.  I noticed the same thing on some of other manufacturers.  I am just using the Weaver bases on my carbine and rifle barrels and they all interchange perfectly.  Some of the other brands like Millet space a little bit different.

On the pistol barrels I am using the Luepold/Redfield single dovetail bases.

Which bases do you have on your barrels?

They are weaver brand aluminum bases, all bought recently from midsouth. I would like to move my Burris 3x12 around for load development off the bench to see what a certain barrel can do, then change over to a hunting scope. The new laser bore sighter makes getting on paper a snap. Got too many barrels and not enough scopes i guess :(
