Fellas,

When using my 7mm Rem Mag barrel I have a problem reloading. Each time I try to put a new shell in it the belt gets hung up on the extractor. I have to reach in with my off hand and pull the extractor down so the casing can slide in and seat properly. How can I fix this? I'm going black bear hunting with it this September and I don't want to be messing with this if I need a quick follow up shot. Thanks in advance!

You may need to very slightly bend the extractor down a little. Or try de-burring it first. A sharp edge where it doesn't belong can cause this. KN

I had the same problem with my 300 Win Mag barrel, and I did as KN suggested to you. I bent the extractor a very little and it worked.

You can also try removing the extractor by tapping out the roll pin that holds it in place. Then slightly bend the spring that puts upward pressure on the extractor so that it puts less upward pressure on the extractor. I've had to do this with several barrels.

i noticed that 300 win mag winchester brand brass loads over the extractor easier than remington. anyone else note differences between brands?
