Smith Ladder Sight

Quickdtoo
Have noticed a few postings on this sight in the last month. I think qickdtoo was waiting to see what someone said about it. I have one on my Marlin. Got around to sighting it in and I like it very much. For my sixty year old eyes it has helped me see the target much better. It is worth the money.

The problem I have with the Smith is when mounted on a BC, it's real close to my eye, too close and I won't be able to use the 100yd buckhorn, the first step on the peep slider is for 200yds, so in effect, I wouldn't be able to use it for hunting.

Quick.... Just a thought, can you not use a taller front globe site such as available at Track, so the Smith peep would work ? I don't know if the BC has a 3/8 front dovetail, but other sizes are available also, and relatively cheap, approx. $25.00

Keep us posted as to how accurate your rechambered BC is shooting..... and likewise Haywire .... thanks ... Bob.

Quick ...... I see they also have various heights of front globe sights at Buffalo Arms, to adjust for the use of the peep of the Smith ladder ...have to admit the pics that Haywire posted of the Smith ladder looks good, worth the effort to set it up ....Bob.  :toast:

The BC has a 3/8" dovetail for the front sight, the .584" tall lyman 17AUG is the standard sight that comes with the BC....that .854" tall sight might work ok with the ladder in the up position for 100yd shooting, but hunting with it in that position certainly wouldn't be ideal, nor would it be too great to flip it up when needed, but it's a thought...thx
