Just wondering if $374 is a good deal on a 15" Encore pistol in 45-70? This is a used gun that looks to be in new condition, blued with wood grip and forend. Something tells me that it was a great deal.

A new one would cost you $470.

I would have to say yes, if it is a complete pistol.

If your wanting it to use it`s a pretty good price. If your want it for tradeing stock .45-70 handgun barrels are hard to move.

A part of me wants it for the frame and would sell the barrel off. I need to look at the cost of a new frame. The other part of me wants to blaze away at the range with it. I'm going to assume this thing is going to kick like a mule. Might be fun to thump some whitetails with it also.
If I could get $150-170 on Ebay for the barrel the frame would then only cost me 200 or so. I'm thinking that is a good price.

I don't own one but I have shot them and they aren't bad. I think the 30-30 barrel is worse.
